Looking for Rocks – Learning Through STREAM
At Hello Kids Flamingo Preschool & Day Care Centre, Malad West, children turn curiosity into learning through our engaging STREAM Learning activities! 🌱🔬
As part of “Looking for Rocks”, our young explorers discovered that rocks are natural objects found all around us. They observed different rocks and explored their sizes, shapes, colours and textures through hands-on learning. 🪨✨
🔍 How we applied STREAM:
🔬 Science: Children learned what rocks are, where they are found, and how they can be different.
💻 Technology: They explored pictures and educational resources to discover different kinds of rocks.
📖 Reading: Children learned new vocabulary such as rock, pebble, rough, smooth, big and small.
🏗️ Engineering: They explored how rocks are used in structures and experimented with simple building ideas.
🎨 Art: Children observed the colours and textures of rocks and used their creativity to represent what they discovered.
🔢 Mathematics: They sorted, compared and counted rocks according to size, shape and texture.
🌟 Learning Through Exploration
Activities like these encourage children to observe, question, compare, communicate and think creatively. Instead of simply learning about rocks from a book, our children become little scientists and explorers! 🧒🔎
